Alan Shorter was a renowned builder of classic racing bikes in the mid-twentieth century. Shorter began his career as an apprentice at Claud Butler Cycles and went on to work for several other builders before starting his own company. Shorter specialized in lightweight road and track bikes and was known for his attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship. Some of Shorter's most notable creations include the Shorter Rochdale and the Shorter Super. Although Shorter died in 2012, his legacy lives on through the many beautiful and functional bikes he built.
